Welcome to Overcomer Ministries of Katonah New York USA offering three books by Bill Nugent, an ordained minister and Bible teacher.
FREE Download of book #1 titled: "MESSIANIC JEWS AND THE LAW OF MOSES." This book gives a unique perspective on grace versus law that you'll find very helpful. It is written primarily from the perspective of Messianic Judaism but Gentile believers can certainly apply its insights. Read it on your computer screen or print it out. Just click over to the "Book 1" link for a chapter by chapter summary or scroll down to read the 15 highlight points at the bottom of this page or click the "Download" link to go directly over to the download page to download it free!
FREE download of book #2 titled: "THE CROSS, SELF-DENIAL AND THE MANIFESTATION OF THE SONS OF GOD." This book gives a balanced conservative study of the soon coming manifestation of the sons of God. Romans 8:19-21 is one of many Bible passages that teach us about the manifestation of the sons of God. This doctrine, commonly called "manifested sons" is often misunderstood and sometimes exploited by cults. This book connects the doctrine of the manifestation of the sons of God with the doctrine of sanctification. Those who embrace the cross and humbly deny self are those who grow to full stature in Christ. Discover what it really means to take up the cross daily. This is not dry legalism but a dynamic walk. The manifestation of the sons of God is not an elitist doctrine but is a glorious end-time event that must be properly understood. It is word for word similar to book #1 (Messianic Jews and the Law of Moses) above but is written more from a Gentile perspective. Grace versus law is an issue of supreme importance to every follower of Jesus the Messiah. Finding the proper balance between grace versus law is a major key to a joyful, victorious lifestyle that glorifies God. The on-line book titled Messianic Jews and the Law of Moses and the new paperback Lawful or Legalistic: How New Testament Believers Must Understand Old Testament Laws tackle the subject of grace versus law from a whole new perspective. The author, Bill
Nugent, a gifted Bible teacher, approaches grace versus law by giving a proper
understanding of how the Old Testament law is a prophetic picture of the New
Testament walk by the Spirit. For instance the Sabbath was a day of rest on
which the people were commanded to cease from work. Under the New Testament we
observe not a literal cessation from work every seventh day but rather we
observe the spiritual fullness of resting in Christ whereby we cease striving
and simply flow in Christ's strength and joy to work in such liberation that it
hardly seems like work. Other aspects of the Old Testament Law such as tithing
and the dietary laws are also discussed from this perspective. Issues such as
Jewish believers' Torah observance are discussed. The prophetic issues
pertaining to the millennium in which some teachers claim that animal sacrifices
will be offered in a rebuilt temple are also discussed at length. Other chapters
contain some extremely helpful teaching on laying down the self-life and how to
walk in continued guidance by the Holy Spirit. 1 How and when we died to the Law (II Cor 5:14 & Rom 7:4) 2 The true implications of the fact that we died to the Law and are released from the Law (Rom 7:6) 3 Why lawlessness or antinomianism are not options for the Christian 4 What it really means to serve in newness of the Spirit and not in oldness of the letter (Rom. 7:6) 5 What it means to walk in the Spirit 6 In depth biblical understanding of commitment, consecration and laying down the self-life 7 Proper understanding of covenants and covenant law (Law of Moses was given in connection with a covenant) 8 How to keep the Law of Moses not literally but in its fulfillment reality in Christ 9 Why literal observance of the Law of Moses is permitted, even encouraged, but not mandatory 10 New Testament fulfillment of Sabbath, kosher laws and tithing is shown 11 How we are to obey New Testament law (We are saved by grace yet the New Testament is full of commands!) 12 Thorough discussion of how and when we must “turn the other cheek” (i.e. non-resistance to evil commanded in Matt 5:39) 13 Thorough discussion of how and when we must sell our cloak and buy a sword (Luke 22:36) (i.e. when resistance to evil is permitted) 14 Analysis of an example taken from the book of Acts where an Apostle turns the other cheek and later that same apostle actively resists evil. 15 Some eschatological issues pertaining to the millennial reign of Christ are answered To order a copy of the award winning Lawful or Legalistic: How New Testament Believers Must Understand Old Testament Laws just click on the link below to go directly to the order page at xulonpress.com.
